Took a nice longer walk today, about 50 minutes, just around the neighborhood. First, I checked on a local complex to see if their pool was still open. Check. Then, I walked around a little loop of cute houses. There is a wildlife habitat, very pretty, and some sort of real looking owl statues. I also discovered a new-to-me Little Free Library on Brookside. I got The Glass Castle  to finish reading it. I actually had gotten to see that author speak in person; that was nice full-circle. I had a nice discussion with the owner. There was a pumpkin in a person's mailbox newspaper slot, and someone planting her rust colored mums. I noticed things like a row of American-style plants that ended with a Japanese-style bush or tree, and I appreciated bright red pops of autumn in several trees, a little unseasonably early from what I understand.
